Hi. Long time no see. Have you ever been just totally over it? Welcome to the past month. My professional life kinda went through a loop, and holy shit, one month later, the path set before me is brand spanking new. And unfortunately, La Petite has taken a backseat. I haven’t been able to log on, the energy needed for this space was simply, not there. But I’m back, because, much like Slim Shady, I’m ready to stand the fuck up.
So here I am, talking all things ’70s fashion and offering some tips on how to rock this spring trend without looking like a total fashion asshole. I’m loving all things these-wide-leg-pants, and so topping them with an overside black silk top creates those ’70 proportions – the loose and blousey, the sophisticated yet bold black and white color palette. What really makes this looks seventies style for me is the gold – lots of gold. I have this image that those it-girls and muses flocking to Studio 54 were decked in copious amounts of gold chains and baubles – and for 2015 it’s my way to pay homage to the decade of exuberance and flash without turning into an off-the-runway disaster. So my fellow fashionistas looking to work that ’70s trends – pair bold black and white shapes with lots of gold chains and channel your inner Loulou de La Falaise and be fabulous.
